Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Kolkata Traffic Police took proactive measures by imposing a four-day roadblock in the Chingdi Hatay area of EM Bypass to ensure the smooth progress of metro rail pylon construction and minimize disruptions to daily traffic.
Santosh Pandey, Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police, stated that no final decision had been made regarding the effectiveness of the roadblock in Chingdi Hatay.
Considering the ongoing construction of metro pillars, the Kolkata Traffic Police made necessary preparations to facilitate the unhindered movement of vehicles in the area. The construction of a metro rail pillar at Chingdi Hatay is crucial for the Gadiya to Airport metro project. Although the construction work has not commenced yet, the authorities have notified the Kolkata Police that it will begin shortly.
Upon receiving this information, the Kolkata Traffic Police conducted a thorough survey of the area. It was determined that during the construction period, traffic from Gadiya to the airport and Ultodanga would be temporarily halted at the entrance of the Chingdi Hatay flyover, as the designated site for the metro pillar construction.
Additionally, vehicles traveling from the airport and Ultodanga to Badhannagar and Gadiya would also experience some impact.
